Our Story
We’re Lost Creek Farm, located in Jack County, Texas. We’re a small family farm where we have a garden and raise fainting goats, chickens, ducks, a goose named Gladys and guinea fowl. And dogs. Dogs are our favorite.
Pretty much everyone on the farm has a job. Some of our dogs have very specific jobs, in fact. The Border Collies, for example, help move goats from place to place when help is needed. Minty and Duke, both Great Pyrenees, protect the farm at night from predators while we sleep. Baldie the Goldendoodle is the senior family pet and he’s the “wise old man”. He’s really good at breaking up disagreements. Hank is a stray who wandered up one day and decided to stay. He’s now my right hand man, my “ranch dog” . Mellie, the basset hound, just sleeps on the porch…but she’s a terrific guard dog, and she’s really good at finding snakes!
So why do we like Doodles?
We’ve been pet owners our entire lives. Dogs large & small. Lap dogs & hunters. Retrievers & Pointers. We’ve owned Yorkies, Poms, Labs & Cockers. Terriers, Poodles, Dachsunds & Hounds. We’ve lived with and trained them all. But never have I had a companion like a Doodle.
Doodles are the product of the smartest dogs on Earth. They are a genetic combination of their parents (Poodles bred with another breed, typically Golden Retievers, Border Collies, Labrador Retrievers, etc) and the result is often an almost perfect pet.
But we ALSO offer AKC English Labrador Retrievers!
Our favorite dogs, long before the popularity of Doodles, were retrievers. Specifically, Labrador Retrievers. We’ve spent quite a lot of time around amazing Labs, and in our opinion, there’s no better purebred dog than the English Labrador Retriever.
So beginning again in 2022, we started offering AKC English Labrador Retrievers. Whether you’re a hunter or just looking for America’s favorite dog, these are the Labs for you.
We’re focused on champion-quality structure and the fantastic personalities and temperaments of the English Lab. We’ll have black, chocolate and the stunning fox red.
We try to stay in the middle; smaller than the big industry breeders, but larger than your typical backyard breeder.
It’s actually tough doing it the way we do it. We try to have enough litters so families don’t have to wait too long, but sometimes waiting lists can still be 6 months to a year or even longer. However, we’re still small enough that we tend to fall in love with every puppy as an individual. This makes it hard when it’s time for puppies to go home, but it’s great for the puppies because they always get special one on one attention.
Most of our adults dogs who live here on the farm get to spend time both inside and outside. (Some dogs live with guardian families.) They all have unique personalities and our family has fun with them all. And when it’s time for a momma to have her puppies she’s usually in a bedroom for the first few weeks, under constant supervision. For this reason, it’s easy for us to become attached to all the new babies, and invariably, one of the kids will “latch on” to one of the puppies and want to make him her own!
Our use of GUARDIAN HOMES...
In order to allow us to have more litters, more often, we began using guardian homes in 2019. We believe that all dogs are special, so we have partnered with other families, all of whom we know and trust. All of our mommas “grew up” on the farm. Most spent their first 12-18 months (or more) living here with us, before moving in with their forever family. Once they moved in with their forever family, the mommas live normal lives as family pets. Then occasionally, usually once per year, the momma will come back to the farm to have their puppies. Once the puppies are weaned, (usually at about 7 weeks, depending on the litter), the momma returns to her forever family. Finally, when momma “retires”, she spends the rest of her life with her guardian family – her forever home.
This is a very important part of our puppy business as it allows us to provide more quality puppies in a safe, healthy way. This is a little different than most breeders and how they use guardian homes, however we do occasionally allow a puppy to move in with their guardian home at a yonger age. We take this aspect of the business very seriously and vet those potential families carefully. (If you’d like information on becoming a guardian family, click here.)
So we all live here, as one big happy family.
It’s not uncommon for one photograph to capture chickens scratching away at the pasture, baby goats playing baby goat games, a cat meandering through, all while several dogs play a fierce game of fetch. For the most part, everyone gets along! Granted, sometimes mommas don’t always agree and Duke can sometimes get very protective of his chickens and goats, but problems are surprisingly rare. And we feel the unique environment here helps create quality puppies due to healthy, well-balanced parents, and unique stimuli during puppy socialization.
We'd love for you to become a part of our family.
I encourage you to do your research. Feel free to ask questions. And most importantly, try to find a breeder who’ll become “extended family” after you adopt your new family member. We hope you choose us!

Why Lost Creek?
Our family raises healthy, structurally sound, well socialized puppies. Our pups are started on a family farm and exposed to unique stimuli which lays the foundation for what will be an amazing family member. Truly, what helps make an amazing lifelong companion is how the pup was brought into the world!
Our success depends on YOUR success, and that’s why we’ll help, if needed, before you get your puppy and even long after your puppy goes home. We build relationships with our families. Our Instagram page highlights many of our puppy families, showing the families and their puppies as they grow together. We think it’s important for you to see our puppies as they grow into adults, and the families that love them! These posts are the best testimonials you could ever see.
WE KNOW YOU HAVE OPTIONS! There are many good breeders out there, we know that! But we sure hope you choose us!
What people are saying...
“We never thought we would go to a breeder for a dog, much less buy a new “designer breed” like a Borderdoodle or Bordoodle from Lost Creek Doodles. Here are a few reasons why it was a great decision and why we are so pleased we did.
A puppy is not a blank slate when he or she comes to your home.
I had thought that the breeder was all about genetics. Is it a pure bred puppy? Are the female and male free of any genetic issues? How about the color, coat, and size? I had once sat next to a world-renowned dog judge. He explained to me that you breed for “temperament” as much a physical characteristics, so we asked a lot of questions about the mother and father of our litter. What were they like? What did they like to do? We were able to see them in action at Lost Creek via their website, Facebook, and Instagram. Even without the pandemic, I think Lost Creek takes the health and safety of their dogs very seriously. With parvo and other potentially contagious diseases, perhaps you will never get a chance to see their operation. That doesn’t matter given their commitment to great communication not only on the web, but also with phone calls and emails.
Back to Augie.
First, there were a lot of people that wanted a Bordoodle. Months in advance, we put down our deposit. There is a list. Top of the list get’s first choice. Then second, etc. The process was done fairly, again with Lost Creek’s commitment to communication, and we got lucky enough to be one of the latter choices on the female we had favored. Might not have made any difference, but that is the way it worked out.
A few weeks later…
…it came time to start thinking about Augie coming home. And this is when we discovered, a puppy is not a blank slate when he or she comes to you, and it’s not all about genetics. Each litter gets private communications with emails, pictures and videos. We saw Augie with his brothers and sisters playing with other dogs, cats, goats, and the family and friends.
A Lost Creek puppy comes to you from a breeder that understands cognitive development science, a good diet, and the importance of socialization. Augie is fearless, well-behaved, healthy, and smart. We are so glad he is in our lives and thankful we did business with Lost Creek Doodles.”
Jim, Susan and “Augie”
Raised with Love
Most of our dogs live here on the farm and are every bit as much a part of our family as anyone. They run with the goats, chickens and play with cats and many other dogs!
At an early age, the puppies are socialized with children and adults and spend time indoors & outdoors. Once they’re old enough, we spend time each morning with every puppy until they’re adopted. It’s fun for the puppy and gives them early human interaction. When your puppy goes home, he’ll have been exposed to all kinds of situations.
It’s tough to beat a life at Lost Creek Farm. Unless of course it’s a new life with a family that will welcome and love a loyal, tender, brave, passionate new member of the family!
Easily Trained

“…the product of some of the smartest dogs on the planet.” We constantly hear stories of how fast the puppies train, and how easy the training process is compared to other dogs. This is Boone! He`s an F1B Bordoodle, and he is a service dog for his big brother Carson. This is what his owner said about him: “We have all gone inside several stores with Boone and every single time he has gotten great accolades from the public. The best thing about him, along with his smarts & willingness to please everyone, he is the cuddliest pup, especially with Carson whom he still gravitates towards by constantly peering into his eyes! … He has gotten our son back to leaving the house by himself with much less anxiety thanks to Boone. Boone has been to Lowes, Walmart, Teskey’s, Starbucks, restaurants, walks, drives, etc. Currently learning to give hugs on command. Near future we will be training at airports & school classrooms…We are extremely grateful and blessed to have Boone for our son. Trainers Joe & Abby (from Always Faithful Dog Training) asked for your contact for future and/or current service dogs.”
Makes us so happy to see success stories like this! Happy for Carson and Boone! #lostcreeksummertimelovin #lostcreekbordoodles #f1bbgoldendoodle #bordoodle #servicedog

This is Mochi! She’s an AKC English Lab and she’s beautiful! (We’ll have more, soon!) This is what her momma said about her: “Jeff, here are some photos of the beautiful dog we got from you, my kids named her Mochi, this dog is incredibly intelligent and easy to train. She was crate trained and potty trained in less than a week, no barking, extremely well socialized, the vet said she looked so robust and healthy and big. She’s affectionate and gentle and playful; we couldn’t have prayed for a better dog for our family, I don’t have social media, so please let me know if I can post a testimonial somewhere or go ahead and use a photo and brag about how amazing these labs are. Thank you again, I hope 2026 brings amazing things for you and your family.” So happy you’re happy Jenney! #lostcreekkennels #lcklabs #lcklenti #englishlab #lostcreekrelentless ...
