What do I do While Waiting for my Doodle? Part 1

I can't stand the wait!

Waiting for your new puppy can feel like a lifetime! We’re all so accustomed to our packages arriving in the mail in 2 days or less, it’s difficult to wait weeks or even months for your pup! When the puppies are born, that excitement comes back stronger than ever, but there’s still another 2 months of waiting while they nurse and grow! It’s tough, but luckily there are plenty of resources online to be fully prepared for the new member of your family.

What do I do in the meantime?

It’s never too early to prepare! Plus, buying potty training pads/wood pellets, a crate, and toys early will help pass the time and temporarily satisfy that puppy craze we all get! Pick-up day will sneak up on you, (probably not) so it’s nice to have plenty of things on hand to entertain your puppy! We have a few great toys and crates we recommend after a LOT of trial and error. Some dogs are aggressive chewers, some not so aggressive. It’s nice to have both handy BEFORE the puppy gets home and rips up a pillow out of sight! It’s also nice to have a plethora of toys, as we’ve noticed doodles tend to have their one or two favorites, just like kids!

Go on YouTube and search “doodle” or “dog training”. There are thousands, if not millions of dog training videos, Doodle vlogs, etc! Some are better than others, but we’ve found that actually seeing someone train their pup with commands and treats is easier than applying it from words on a page.

Ok, I bought all the supplies I need and more, now what?

Part 2 of this series will be posted next week!
