Loose-Leash Walking (Training Series)

Who’s walking whom?

Loose-leash walking takes the dread out of walking a large dog and makes it fun for both of you. Doodles are extremely smart dogs and they can easily be taught to walk on a leash under control. It just takes small steps. Start early and stay persistent. Most importantly, be patient and the training will be well worth it!

What is “loose-leash” walking?

Loose-leash walking is walking your full-grown Doodle without being pulled into others. Loose-leash walking is walking your dog without being pulled up or down the stairs or down the sidewalk. It’s the ability for a small child to walk the dog without worrying about the dog pulling him down the street!

New instructional series coming!

We’ll be posting training instructions in parts over the next several weeks. There is no one correct way to train a dog. Owners are different and one dog’s personality can be very different from another. We’ll be posting tips individually that you can try with your young dog. Some may work, some may not. Try them all! And always feel free to send us comments or questions.
